Firstly Remember fit is everything!
Hoof Boots are generally very successful when they are fitted properly. Most boot problems stem from incorrect measurements. Poor fit allows the boots to move around the hoof and twist when on the horse.
Measure after a fresh trim. Choose the boot whose sizing chart mirrors your hoof shape. If you have a hoof with flares or distortions then choose a boot that accommodates these. Choose carefully. Keep the boot & sole clean when you fit them. For us to exchange they must be in "as new" condition without any sole wear or dirt marks and exchanges must be made within the 30 day portion of the warranty. Do not apply over shoes or the warranty is voided.

Truly the "no fuss" boot! If you want a no fuss boot suitable for the riders who may do approx. 50 klm. per week, or if you find other boots too complicated or suffer a loss of strength in your fingers that make doing up buckles difficult then The Trail is a wonderful boot for you.

If you prefer a different buckle style then you can change to the "easy up" buckle system which is sold as an accessory.
Sold as a single boot it works well for horses with different hoof sizing.
Gaiters can be easily replaced if necessary with normal household tools.
Fastening is with a simple cable and snap buckle system.

Provides traction and protection whilst allowing free striding and natural breakover. Truly the boot that enhances natural biomechanics.
The boot of choice for performance and endurance riders.
The Glove material stretches over the hoof and clings to the walls so that debris stays out of the boot even in sandy or muddy conditions.
There is no fastening system. The boots excellent fit is its own fastening system! No external hardware to worry about but the gaiter can still be easily replaced if necessary.
If you choose a Glove Boot Easycare Down Under suggests you always fine tune your fit with a "fit kit" first.
What is a fit kit?
A fit kit is series of Glove boot shells with sizing above, below, and including the size that you measure too. The Glove boot being so stretchy will sometimes fit hoof sizes that fall outside the exact measurement. With a fit kit you can test several sizes to find the exact one for your horse. Note: this boot style is not recommended for horses with excessive flaring.
How to get your fit kit:
First measure your horse after a fresh trim. Then please ring our office on 02 4455-2440 (during business hours) and speak to one of our staff. You will need to lodge a refundable deposit with us so we can post your fit kit to you. Your deposit will be returned to you less postage, once you return the kit.

Power Straps: If you are a high performance rider and want a more secure boot fit, you might like to consider using the special "power strap" developed for The Glove boot.
It is easily attached by the purchaser and prevents the V at the front of the boot from opening up. Many endurance riders find this an excellent option for the hinds of horses who really like to dig in and power off their hind hooves (especially going up hill). There is also another great idea for making boot fit super snug - see "Mueller" tape information below.

Power Straps - available in many colours. These can be applied easily by simple household tools and will ensure a tighter fit. Great for hind boots or extra security.
Mueller Tape: This is a great idea for those times when you want extra security for The Glove boot. It wraps around the hoof wall and its outer texture creates a really strong bond with the material of the Glove. It has been highly successful for endurance riders who find they may need to negotiate all sorts of terrain during a competition.
The Glue On Shells
The Glue On Shell uses the same sizing as the Glove Boot.
The Shells are ideal for multi day endurance rides or long distance endurance rides where you do not want to use the Glove with a gaiter.
The Glue on Shells are not meant to replace horse shoes and should never be left on the hoof for more than 7 days. Hoof conditions such as thrush thrive in an anaerobic environment (airless) so it is not recommended that these boots be left on the horse for periods longer than the manufacturers recommendations.
The Gluing Process:
The boot shell is applied with a very fast setting two pack adhesive glue. We recommend the Vettec brand specifically made for this process. The hoof MUST be clean and dry. Please read and follow carefully the manufacturers instructions for hoof preparation and the gluing process as the glue is very fast acting. You will need to be confident your horse will be co-operative during the glue on or you may end up with an off centre boot!
Once applied, to remove the boot the boot will need to break the glue seal by prising the boot away from the hoof with a small screwdriver or similar non sharp implement. The shells can be re-used but any glue residue inside the boot or on the hoof needs to be removed to establish a good surface for the next glue process.
Sold as pairs they also include a gaiter to cover the pastern area.
Pads can also be inserted for added comfort if necessary. The Boa Boot is a great trail riding boot and encloses the entire hoof capsule.
Often its sizing accommodates horses with unusual hoof measurements.
Its super easy to use "dial" system allows you to quickly open up the boot and to insert the hoof. Then a simple twisting of the dial tightens the boot.

The Edge Boot is a great all purpose boot suitable for all terrain riding.
The unique worm screw tightening system is operated by a key that is supplied (or even a coin).
A thick tongue lays behind the worm screw system to protect the hoof and to tighten you merely wind the key.
Not suitable for excessively flared hooves.
