Easyboot Epic Boot

Easyboots have been the industry’s leading horse boot for the last thirty years. During this time period, Easyboots have been used to win endurance races, complete mounted treks from 2,000-18,000 miles in length, provide traction to mounted police units, treat many hoof problems and ride a horse home after a lost shoe.
Although the horse riding boot concept has continued to improve each year, in 2005 we introduced several enhancements to the Easyboot and the Easyboot Epic which incorporate testing and feedback from horsemen all over the world.
Changes in technology nearly always occur after the original release of an item – think of the rapid evolution of most electronic toys we own. These changes do not mean you must give up your old boots--any generation Easyboot is a great Easyboot! We will continue to support, repair or replace any boots from the entire EasyCare horse boot line as set out in the EasyCare Horse Boot Return Policy.
Using Easyboots is a natural way to provide hoof protection, traction, treatment, cushioning and correction while allowing the horse to go barefoot at all other times. They fit snugly to the hoof, are lighter and last many times longer than standard steel plates. Properly fitted, they stay on as well as nailed-on shoes with an important advantage – if an Easyboot is pulled off, the rider can put it right back on.

New! Updated gaiters now fold back to stay out of the way for easier boot application.
As they are available singly they are a great boot for horses with different hoof sizes.

EASYBOOT EPIC SIZING:
How to get the correct size boot for your horse: Measure the width of the hoof across the bottom at the widest point.
1. Measure the length of the hoof from the toe to the buttress line of the heel. The buttress line is the farthest weight bearing point of the heel.
2. Compare your measurement with the proper size chart.
3. Ideally, the width and length measurement will fit into the same Easyboot Epic size. If the width and length measurements indicate different Easyboot Epic sizes, select the larger Easyboot Epic size.
If the width and length measurements are different by more than one size, EasyCare hoof boots are not recommended and a different style should be considered.
Putting on the Easyboot Epic: Loop the 3/4" nylon webbing pull-strap around the back (heel) strap. Fold the gaiter over the back of the boot before fitting the boot over the toe. Pick up the horse’s leg and support it between your knees (as if you were picking the hoof) so that you can use two hands when applying the boot. Place the boot over the horse’s toe and using a slight back and forth twisting motion, slide the boot on the rest of the way keeping the Gaiter from bunching into the boot.

Due to their great deal of elasticity, gaiter straps cannot be overtightened. Overlap the velcro as much as needed to ensure a tight fit. This overlapping does not compromise the integrity of the gaiter. When properly tightened, it should be difficult to fit a finger between the pastern and the top of the gaiter.

The Easyboot Buckle Pin: can now be added to lock the buckle into place if you wish. The Easyboot Buckle Pin is recommended for rocky trails, endurance events or on horses who have a tendency to open the front Easyboot buckle.

Important: The Easyboot Epic should fit tight around the hoof and the Gaiter snugly around the pastern. The Easyboot Epics should require effort to put on. After you fit the Easyboot Epic and the horse has had a chance to move around, make sure the Easyboot Epics are still fitted squarely and securely on the hoof. Make sure the Easyboot Epic has not twisted to the side. If the Easyboot Epic has twisted to the side it is either to large or needs to be tightened. Discontinue use if the boot continues to twist. Boots that twist can cause damage to the hoof wall.
For flexibility in cold weather, keep the Easyboot Epic in a heated room or soak in hot water before fitting on hoof.
Normal use of Easyboot Epics implies removal when not required. It is NOT recommended that the Epic be left on the hoof for more than 24 hours.
